The DERTOUR Group bundles its activities in our sustainability programme “DER Welt verpflichtet” (Committed to the World). This is where strategic priorities with four pillars of sustainability are set to make an impact in the products and the entire value chain:
Sustainable tourism is much more than avoiding unnecessary towel changes in hotels. It is about reducing the negative social and environmental impacts throughout the supply chain and at the same time increasing the positive ones.

Travelling connects people and their cultures. It contributes to cosmopolitanism, mutual understanding and tolerance. Tourism also builds bridges economically: it is an important economic factor across the globe, contributing to employment and prosperity. Thanks to its consistent and rapid growth, the industry now constitutes one of the most important economic sectors worldwide.
We harness the power of tourism to specifically advocate for more sustainable travel. This applies to the design of our products as well as the development of effective measures jointly with our partners, with political representatives and participants in the travel industry. We want to foster economic development in the holiday destinations while reducing our environmental footprint and negative impact on people and nature.
The UN’s 2030 Agenda is a global plan to promote sustainable peace and prosperity and protect our planet. To this end, 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) were formulated. Tourism is also called upon here, as it can make a decisive contribution to achieving these goals – by reinforcing its positive aspects, e.g., promoting the local culture and job creation, and reducing its negative impacts, especially as regards nature conservation.
DERTOUR Group is playing its role to achieve the UN goals. And our commitment starts precisely where we can make the most difference. That is why it has identified the SDGs most relevant to its business.
