Karl J. Pojer appointed new CEO of DERTOUR Group Hotel Division

With immediate effect, Karl. J. Pojer will be overseeing the entire Hotel Division of DER Touristik Group. With extensive management experience in the international hotel and cruise industry, he will head up one of DER Touristik Group’s main growth areas. As the new CEO of DERTOUR Group Hotel Division, Mr. Pojer will report to Dr. Ingo Burmester, CEO Central Europe and Member of the Executive Board of DERTOUR Group. As CEO of DERTOUR Group Hotel Division, he will also be appointed to the Extended Executive Board of DERTOUR Group. He will also continue in his role as CEO Touristik of DSR Hotel Holding, building on the close collaboration across brands.

The Hotel Division of DERTOUR Group has grown considerably as a result of acquisitions, including the complete takeover of the Premium Club brand Aldiana and the purchase of hotels and a majority shareholding in DR Hospitality in early January. Today the Hotel Division has 10 brands, with more than 100 hotels, resorts, and clubs in 14 countries worldwide.

About Karl J. Pojer

Karl J. Pojer has had a long and distinguished career in senior management in the international hotel and cruise industry, with positions at well-known brands such as Kempinski Hotels, Sheraton and Pestana Hotels, Resorts and Casinos. He worked for many years at TUI AG, where his roles included CEO of the Robinson Clubs and divisional director of TUI Hotels & Resorts. In 2013, Mr. Pojer took over the running of Hapag-LLoyd Cruises and steered the brand to lasting success. In 2022, he became CEO Touristik of DSR Hotel Holding and has since worked closely with DER Touristik Hotel Division. His many professional awards include ”Travel Industry Manager”, ”Seatrade Cruise Personality Of The Year” and, most notably, ”Hotelier Of the Year”.
